Using Oil Baths for Gentle Skin Cleansing with Moisturization

Dry skin itches, tightens, sometimes even hurts, and can crack under certain circumstances. It is an annoying endeavor that not only causes discomfort but can also be visually perceived as bothersome. When the skin is dry, it requires intensive care. Regular oil baths are a valuable aid in this regard.

How Dry Skin Develops?

The skin is composed of numerous cells, and the free space between them is seamlessly filled with lipids. These lipids ensure that excessive moisture, in the form of sebum and water, doesn't escape from the skin. If the body produces fewer lipids than necessary, too much fluid escapes, and the skin's moisture content decreases. As a result, it becomes drier.

Various factors contribute to this process, including:

  • Chemotherapy (some types)
  • Frequent washing
  • Intensive sunbathing
  • Hormonal influences
  • Cold winter air
  • Consumption of alcohol and cigarettes
  • Natural skin aging
  • Dry heating air
  • Unhealthy diet

How to Treat Dry Skin?

When the skin is too dry, the goal is to give it back what it lacks: moisture. However, it's not possible to simply supply water from the outside due to the natural skin barrier preventing it..

Substances are needed that act as carriers and can transport water into the cells. Substances with these necessary properties include urea and panthenol.

How Do Oil Baths Help with Dry Skin?

Our oil baths are perfectly coordinated and provide the skin with sufficient moisture and nourishing, as well as protective lipids. For the care of normal to dry skin, the NOB®-NutrientOilBath is recommended. It forms a high-quality oil protective film, stabilizing the lipid and moisture balance of the skin.

For this purpose, it not only uses panthenol but also Vitamin A and E. While Vitamin A contributes to maintaining normal skin, Vitamin E supports cells in protecting against oxidative stress..

Jojoba oil (which actually has a wax structure) is also part of it. It closely resembles the structure of the skin's own sebum, making it very moisturizing. Additionally, it contains a large amount of antioxidants and antibacterial properties.

The included castor oil acts antioxidatively, protecting the skin from free radicals that can lead to dryness. Peanut oil is also part of the formulation, known for its replenishing effect.

The included soybean oil helps the skin renew its natural acid mantle while simultaneously binding moisture. Finally, almond and carrot oil, which are valuable sources of Vitamin A, complete the composition.

The NOB®-NutrientOilBath is available with or without perfume and can be used daily as needed. Depending on how dry your skin is, add one to two capfuls of the oil to the bathwater.

After bathing, do not rinse with clear water; instead, pat your body dry with a towel. This leaves a nurturing oil film on your skin.

You also have the option to shower or perform a full-body wash with the NOB® NutrientOilBath. For the full-body wash, mix half a cap of the oil bath with a bowl of warm water and use a washcloth.

Special Instructions:

  • This oil bath can be easily rinsed off with hot water from the bathtub and the shower hose, as well as from faucets.
  • This oil bath is suitable for all age groups with dry skin.

When Are Oil Baths Like ELB®-ExtraLipidBath the Right Choice?

For dry to very dry, sensitive, and stressed skin, the ELB®-ExtraLipidBath is the suitable product. It ensures extra-intensive replenishment of lipids, thanks to ingredients like keratin and beta-carotene.

Keratins are fibrous proteins that support the skin's resilience, preventing excessive moisture loss. Beta-carotene protects the skin from UV rays and the free radicals produced by them, helping to prevent further dryness.

This product is also available with or without perfume and is suitable for daily use. Depending on your needs, add one to two caps of the oil to the running bathwater.

After your bath, do not rinse, but gently pat yourself dry with a towel to retain the nurturing oil film on the skin. Showering or full-body washes are also possible with the ELB®-ExtraLipidBath.

Special Note:

  • This oil bath can be easily rinsed off with hot water from the bathtub, shower hose, and fixtures
  • This oil bath is suitable for all age groups, for dry to very dry skin.
