Whether it’s extreme heat, biting cold, or high humidity – the skin needs the right care in every kind of weather, all year round. Throughout the year, the human body is protected by the skin against various climatic influences. Depending on the season, skin care requires the following measures:

• In spring, the skin is exposed to the first rays of the sun. It must be prepared with the right care, and above all, a strong skin barrier must be built to protect the body from pollen and other potential allergens.

• In summer, the skin urgently needs protection from the sun’s harmful UV radiation. This prevents skin damage and premature aging, while still allowing the skin to make the most of the sun’s benefits, such as producing the essential vitamin D.

• In autumn, the skin should be able to recover from the strain of sun exposure. This is the time to supply it with moisture and nutrients, ensuring it is optimally prepared for the cold winter months.

• In winter, the skin is constantly caught between extremes – exposed to cold air outdoors and often to dry heating air indoors. Maintaining balance under these conditions is one of the most important tasks of skin protection in winter.

By adapting your skincare to the climatic conditions, your skin will remain fresh and perfectly nourished at all times.

In summer, skin protection must focus on shielding the skin from UV rays and sunburn. For broad-spectrum sun protection, specific sunscreens or lotions with an SPF of 30 to 50 are primarily recommended, depending on skin type. Smaller, more exposed areas, such as the bridge of the nose or the ears, can be optimally protected with our ZCR® ZincCream – even if a mild sunburn is already present. It forms a whitish film over the areas to be protected and, thanks to the zinc, creates an impenetrable “barrier” against UV rays and infrared radiation.

Given the intense sunlight, any cooling effect is welcome for the skin in summer. Our CC® CoolingCream with menthol provides a pleasantly refreshing sensation thanks to its special formulation. Among its ingredients is menthol, which delivers an instant cooling boost.

Other components of the cream contribute to comprehensive skin care. Aloe vera, jojoba oil, and almond oil are well-known for their moisturizing properties, making the cream particularly suitable for dry, sensitive, and irritated skin. For very dry skin, it can be mixed with petroleum jelly. Additionally, it is also available without menthol for those with sensitivities.

In winter, it is essential to supply the skin with nutrients. This can be done effectively, especially for dry to severely flaky skin, with our NCR® NutrientCream. It contains various plant oils such as corn, almond, and carrot oil, which provide the skin with abundant moisture – a particularly important benefit during the dry indoor heating season.

The vitamin E in the cream also nourishes the skin, protects it from inflammation, and promotes skin regeneration.

In both summer and winter, the delicate skin on the lips requires especially careful care. This is best achieved with our LPB® LipBalm, which helps stabilize the lips’ lipid and moisture balance and is suitable for various skin types. It can be used on normal as well as dry, stressed, and sensitive lips.
